Visitor Policy – Rehab Melbourne

We’re There For You & Your Loved One’s Every Step Of The Way

The admission process at Malvern Private is designed to help transition you or a loved one smoothly into the program and begin their journey to recovery. We are committed to providing each client with the support they need to succeed.

Designed to encourage healing

Closed-Unit

We understand that connection with loved ones is an important part of the healing process. However, to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients, Malvern Private Hospital maintains a closed-unit policy during active therapy. This means that regular visits are not permitted during a patient’s stay.

Why a Closed-Unit Policy?

Our closed-unit policy is designed to create a supportive and focused environment for our patients, allowing them to fully engage in their therapy without distractions. This approach has been proven effective in helping patients achieve their treatment goals.

Family Meetings

Towards the end of a patient’s stay, we may arrange a discharge family meeting. This meeting provides an opportunity for family members to connect with their loved one, discuss the treatment progress, and prepare for the patient’s transition back into the community.

Emergency Contact

In case of an emergency, family members can contact Malvern Private Hospital at 03 9885 9621 and request to speak with nursing staff. Our staff will be able to provide information about the patient’s condition and address any concerns.

Success Stories

Proof that recovery is possible

"MPH quite literally saved my life, but that was just the beginning. The therapeutic programme they provided gave me a rock-solid foundation for lasting recovery from my 25 years of alcoholism. It was the most deeply challenging experience of my life, I can’t lie. But I came away with a full understanding of my addiction and the underlying trauma that drove it, and a blueprint for how to heal over time. I gained a radically altered attitude to life and a heap of tools to help me maintain my sobriety in the outside world. "

Thriving in recovery from Alcohol Addiction

"After 16 years of a vicious addiction to multiple substances, I found that no matter how I tried to clean up I would slip back into the same cycle of scoring, petty crimes, court and then self detoxification all to no avail. After realising I wasn’t able to stop myself and my loving family was not either, we found Malvern Private on the internet. I arrived not knowing what to expect but I can honestly say the tools/education I received there was what I was missing in all my previous attempts and the experience of the staff. I am now clean from all drugs and can honestly say I have never been happier in myself. My confidence is growing, and I feel I can tackle any challenges life brings good and bad. "
